Summer Application

Our summer program offers flexibility as well as a more relaxed atmosphere. The summer schedule for lessons is flexible–you have the option to only select as many weeks are you are able to attend so that lessons do not interfere with other summer plans. Our 2012 Summer Session takes place June 4th through July 28th. Additional weeks in August and early June may be available dependent upon the teachers’ schedules.

 

SUMMER CAMPS

  • PIANO CAMP (BEGINNER): Kids can have fun with friends and get a jump start learning what the piano is all about! This is a great opportunity for children to start learning to play the piano. Ages 5 to 10.
  • PIANO CAMP (INTERMEDIATE): Does your child already love the piano but wants to have fun playing with friends? This intermediate piano camp is a chance for current piano students to have a little fun. Ages 8 to 12.
  • ROCK CAMP: Let’s put together a rock band! Bring your instrument (any instrument!) and get ready to perform for family and friends! Ages 10 to 16.
  • BUILD YOUR OWN GUITAR CAMP: Get together to build and play your own electric guitar! All skill levels welcome. Ages 10 to 16.

Camp dates will be determined based on interest and availability. Please indicate your available weeks on the application form. Each camp will be one week long, meeting daily.

CARNIVAL OF MUSIC (MUSIKGARTEN):

Preschool music classes meeting once a week for six weeks (June 11-July 21). From infant to 7 yrs, grouped by age. Classes meet for 30, 45, or 60 minutes. Class days and times will be determined based on interest and availability.

PRIVATE LESSONS: Piano, Guitar, Voice, Violin, Viola, Cello, Clarinet, Saxophone, Drums (Children and Adults)

Students meet privately with a teacher once a week or twice a week for 30 or 45 minutes, or once a week for 60 minutes. Lessons will be scheduled by the teacher according to the availability of both the student and teacher.

GROUP PIANO LESSONS:

Students can meet in groups of 3-5 in our digital piano lab for 45 or 60 minutes each week.

SUMMER COSTUME PARTY AND POPS RECITAL: (Time & Date TBA)

Students in private and group lessons have the opportunity to perform movie, Broadway, or other popular tunes, and dress up like a character or idea that coordinates with their piece. Original compositions are encouraged during the summer session and may be performed at this time. Additionally, we are interested in giving students the opportunity to play in ensembles as well as involving both vocal and instrumental students in mini musical theater scenes for this program. Ensemble and musical theater rehearsals will be scheduled around your availability.

 

SUMMER TUITION AND FEES:

Registration Fee: $15 for new students (fee is waived for current students)

General Music Classes (six weeks):

  • 30 minute class: $92
  • 45 minute class: $121
  • 60 minute class: $140

Private Lessons (minimum of four weeks):

  • 30 minutes/week: (4 wks) $106
  • 45 minutes/week: (4 wks) $159
  • 60 minutes/week: (4wks) $212
  • 30 minutes/twice a week: (4 wks) $212
  • 45 minutes/twice a week: (4 wks) $318

Group Lessons (minimum of four weeks):

  • 45 minutes/week: (4 wks) $104
  • 60 minutes/week: (4 wks) $116

Camps (one week in length, Monday through Friday):

  • Beginner Piano Camp (1 hour/day): $100
  • Intermediate Piano Camp (1 hour/day): $100
  • Rock Camp (3 hours/day): $250
  • Build Your Own Guitar Camp (2 hours/day): $350  *Price includes guitar kit

 

Register by turning in our summer application form and registration fee (if applicable) to AHMA by the week of May 14th. You will be contacted by your teacher for your lesson time. Tuition is collected by automatic payment from your bank account or credit card in full or in two payments. Tuition adjustments will be made for advance notice of absence at registration only.
